It Was Just Yesterday...

It was just yesterday that I was being interviewed and pondering how in the world I would answer that last perplexing question. Yeah right...

Let's try yesterday and a year.

A lot has happened in that year. I was being interviewed -- by a pulpit committee. A church that was looking at my husband wanted to look at me, too. As far as what I eventually came up with...

after a great deal of thinking, it was "having a front row seat to seeing lives changed." (My second place answer would have been "having instant access day or night to a walking, talking Encyclopedia Religiosa", but fortunately they did not ask for the top two. :-P) Anyway, although my answers to their questions were fantabulous, and they said so themselves in the form letter they sent out to all the rejects (*chortle*), that church decided to pursue other candidates instead. I'm sure it had nothing to do with us, and everything to do with the salary requirements the dude stipulated. Yep, that was it. ;-)

So anyway, after 13 years in the same place, we were looking hard for a new church. We would have stayed there forever, but were always open to new possibilities and callings. Last January (2009), God made it abundantly clear that it was time to move on, and move on we did -- 1200 miles from all I've ever called home.

I'll explain more later and also talk about some of the bumps in the road along the way. But for now, I just wanted to drop by the old neglected blog and sweep the cobwebs off of it. Is anyone still out there? Hello if you are!
